So, it is now 8:00 p.m., exactly.
I have been checking back to NYTimes, The Huffington Post and the Drudge Report periodically throughout the day. Here is the synopsis, thus far.
NYTIMES:
The Times has done a good job of updating their content throughout the day. There are some updates on the stock market stuff from the day on the left hand side, but the main article is about NY Mayor Bloomberg, who is seeking a third term. The opinion section is still the same, but there are some new articles disbursed throughout the page, including a new election article about Billy Joel and Bruce Springstein's fundraiser for Barack Obama.
Huff:
Woah! Okay so The Huffington Post just updated this hour. They had changed a couple of things since 9 a.m., but kept things generally the same when I checked last at 7 o' clock- namely their headline about McCain being at a "political deadend" because of the market fall and their blog about McCain and Reaganomics. The link about McCain still exists, but has been trumped by an article with a title pertaining to Bush's 70% disapproval rating. Yet, unsurprisingly, once I clicked on this link it turned out it was not about Bush's disapproval rating, but rather, Obama and McCain via the economy. McCain, of course, seems to be at a disadvantage compared to Obama, following the Huff's tendency to come off as pro-Obama. New blog highlighting America's imperialism in light of the current economic crisis. Generally though, same stuff as this morning.
Drudge:
Oh site of little change. Drudge has changed some links, but kept its headliners and its images, from this morning. Then again, it's hard to tell given the fact that every link looks the same. Anyway, there are definitely a couple new ones, a few that are even in red [snow on Mars! consumer confidence improves in Sept.! US writing too "insular" to compete - take that, Foer].
Drudge's doomsday reports of earlier this morning and its lump of links in the upper left hand corner that all relate to the economy gives me the most gloomy outlook out of the 3 sites...
